SQL 2014 End of Life

Per Microsoft policy, SQL 2014, reached End of Life as of July 9, 2024.

What does this mean?

  • Customers should work with their IT Dept or MSP to upgrade their SQL Server instances to newer, supported versions of SQL as soon as possible.

  • Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, technical content updates, and support for SQL Server 2014.

  • As Paperless Environments looks to take advantage of new SQL functions in later versions of SQL, you may be unable to deploy our latest updates without first upgrading SQL to a newer version.

The following Microsoft articles outline available upgrade paths depending on which version of SQL you are going to and what version of SQL you are currently running.

SQL 2017  SQL 2017 Upgrade Paths

SQL 2019  SQL 2019 Upgrade Paths

SQL 2022  SQL 2022 Upgrade Paths

To determine your SQL Version and Edition, your IT Dept, MSP, or SQL Admin can run the following query in SQL with results being presented similarly to the screenshot below… 'select @@version'

In this example, you can see the version is SQL Server 2017 and the edition is Express
